MICROTUBE SELECTOR
Description
The
Microtube selector
is a product in the VITL product range designed to sequentially raise microtubes in a microtube rack to assist with manual or robotic handling.
The unit can be used as an independent bench-top instrument or as a module for integration into a robotic workstation. It is controlled by software which resides on a separate PC and communicates by USB.
The unit is designed for use in North America and Europe and is CE marked.

Operation
The software on the PC is used to select one of three operating modes.
In
manual mode the
96 microtubes are raised in turn, either one microtube, or one column, or one row at a time. In
custom mode
a subset of microtubes is defined and raised either one microtube at a time, or one subset at a time. In
results mode
the software is used to select a subset of microtubes by comparing readings previously entered into an Excel spreadsheet against predetermined thresholds. The microtubes required are sequentially raised. In all modes the user steps through the sequence using the fascia mounted button, or a footswitch or operations on a PC.
