Resources - Case Study

A well-known international company active in the glucose monitoring market undertook a design and development programme with ITL for a new innovative measurement system.

The Challenge :

  • To develop the instrumentation around a design for a new consumable under development.
  • To integrate the consumable design to the instrument when both were still evolving.

The Solution:

ITL set up a dedicated area within the category II Biohazard handling wet laboratory for the Client. Client personnel then temporarily relocated to make use of the facility. ITL provided experienced laboratory personnel to undertake development tasks with the Client and a programme of evaluation was undertaken that included the consumables and the primary hardware designs. The in-house phlebotomist at ITL was able to provide fresh blood samples from ITL volunteers.

With both Engineers and Biochemists on site, the Team were able to evaluate emerging designs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
