Design Transfer

At the completion of a product development programme, ITL Engineering ensures that the device design is correctly translated into production specifications, irrespective of whether the transfer of the design is within house or to an external manufacturing facility.

A design transfer review takes place before the start of any production manufacturing stage. This includes audit and transfer of the Technical File, which is formatted during the design phase. This base line, known as “Lock Down”, is presented as a package for acceptance to an internal review body.

Personnel involved in the review include members of ITL’s Management Team, Engineering personnel (as decreed by the Project Manager), and Client representation.

The transfer process is conducted, and sign off controlled, by means of the Engineering Change procedure. The completion of the transfer process is acknowledged by both ITL management and Client signature.
