System Approach
It is a common error and an over-simplification to break instrumentation development down into sub-components and allocate each of these to relevant engineering disciplines.
At ITL we recognise that no sub-assembly or component of an instrument works in isolation and that the integration of the instrument as a whole to the disposable, clinical chemistry or electronic interface is a vital part of the process.
Approaching the development or manufacture of a product with a view to the whole system enables the product to be fit-for-purpose without over-complication and still include all the required functionality.
Development to address the market needs must include recognition that the system as a whole must perform certain functions within its commercial constraints.
